Jill Scott is the only daughter from her mom Joyce Scott. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 4, 1972. The family was also dominated by her maternal grandmother, and was raised being an all-single child. Scott was educated at Philadelphia High School for Girls. After the completion of her studies, Scott enrolled into Temple University. In addition to working two jobs part-time, she also studied secondary teaching at Temple University.
